Unstag is operated by SkillCrunch Private Limited (“Unstag”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), based in India. Unstag is an entertainment / campus social app available on the App Store and Google Play.

2. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Unstag mobile application and related services (the “Service”), including account verification, anonymous posting (confessions, secrets, gossip, crushes, incidents), comments, chats, coins/rewards, notifications, and campus feeds such as Explore and My Campus.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Information you provide

• Verification data: College or university email address and/or student ID details used to confirm you are an eligible student. This is used for app functionality and campus exclusivity.
• Profile details you choose to share: Display handle, course/branch, college name, graduation year, relationship status, bio, and avatar illustration preferences.
• User content: Posts, comments, replies, reactions, chats, reports, and other content you submit. Public-facing feed content is designed to appear anonymously to other users.
• Support messages: Information you send when you contact us for help or safety reports.

3.2 Information collected automatically

• Device & technical data: Device type, OS version, app version, language, time zone, and similar technical identifiers needed to run and secure the app.
• Usage data: Feature interactions (for example, views, likes, comments, shares), session diagnostics, and performance metrics.
• Diagnostics: Crash logs and related diagnostic data that are not linked to your public anonymous identity, used to improve stability.

3.3 What we do not sell

We do not sell your personal information. We do not sell your identity or attach your real name to anonymous campus posts shown to other students.

4. How we use information

• Verify student eligibility and keep campuses exclusive.
• Provide anonymous posting, campus feeds, comments, chats, coins, crush cards, badges, and related features.
• Detect spam, abuse, harassment, and policy violations.
• Improve performance, fix bugs, and develop new features.
• Send important service notices (security, policy updates, account issues). Optional product updates may be offered where allowed.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

5. Anonymity & identity

Unstag is built so students can share campus stories without revealing who they are to other users. Verification may link limited identity data (such as college email) to your account on our systems for eligibility, safety, and abuse prevention — but that identity is not displayed on your anonymous posts to the campus community.

6. Sharing of information

We may share information only in these limited cases:

• Service providers: Trusted vendors who help us host, analyze, secure, or operate the Service under confidentiality obligations.
• Legal & safety: When required by law, or to protect users, prevent fraud/abuse, or respond to lawful requests.
• Business transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, information may transfer under continued privacy protections.
• With your direction: For example, if you choose to share a profile link or export content where available.

We do not share your identity with other students for ordinary feed browsing, posting, liking, or commenting.

7. Data security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and monitoring for suspicious activity. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect account and verification data.

8. Data retention

We retain information only as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Verification and account records may be kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for safety and legal compliance. You may request deletion as described below.

9. Your rights & choices

• Request access to personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion / account removal where applicable.
• Opt out of non-essential analytics where offered.
• Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.

10. Children’s privacy / age policy

Unstag is intended for students who meet the applicable store age rating and campus eligibility requirements (App Store age rating: 16+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a minor has provided data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

11. International users

Unstag is operated from India. If you access the Service from another country, your information may be processed in India or other locations where our providers operate, subject to applicable protections.

12. Third-party links & stores

The Service may link to third-party sites or store pages. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Download and payment processing through Apple or Google are handled by those platforms under their terms.

13. Policy changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notifying you in-app or by email.
